Vehicle Setup

TO PARTICIPATE IN CLUB OUTINGS VEHICLES SHOULD BE EQUIPPED AS FOLLOWS:

ESSENTIAL

    • Vehicle must be roadworthy and registered as per R.T.A. regulations.
    • The Driver must hold the appropriate license as required by R.T.A.
    • The Driver must advise the Trip Leader if they have any reservations as to their vehicles capabilities or their own.
    • Recovery points (tow hooks) be fitted front and rear.  Heavy duty tow bar or Hayman Reese hitch at rear will be OK.

RECOMMENDED

    • Snatch strap suitable for the weight of vehicle.
    • “D” shackles and or “Bow Shackles”.
    • Drag Chain suitable for weight of vehicle.
    • Tow Rope or Strap suitable for weight of vehicle.
    • Most members have had U.H.F. Radios fitted.
      The Club Radio Channel used is 12 on both sets. The Club has some which members can borrow for a trip. (see your trip leader)

NOTE:
A full set of recovery gear for our club outings consist of:

    • One Snatchem Strap.
    • One Tree Protector.
    • Two Bow and or “D” shackles.
    • One Pair Gloves (leather).
    • One Drag Chain.
    • One Hessian Bag.

      A recovery kit can be purchased at most auto shops carrying 4WD equipment.
