Cleanup Australia, March 1st 2009

We met at Wahroonga Park at 8.30 am and travelled out to Little Beni Forest to once again clean up this area. I am pleased to say that there was slightly less rubbish than last year, but we still collected plenty! This area belongs to National Parks so I liaised with Rod Hurst. He came along with his daughter Charlotte and Dave Brill, also from National Parks. They were delighted with our help.  The children were delighted to each receive a “Clean Up Australia” certificate.

We had a little spare time so we went to Mugga Hill and began cleaning that area up too. Unfortunately both these areas are too close to town and don’t charge tip fees!  At 12 noon we headed back to town and enjoyed the sausage sizzle provided by council.
